Why Choose St Brigid’s?
Welcome to St Brigid’s Catholic Primary School, Coonamble. St Brigid's offers a high-quality Catholic education in an environment that is supportive and caring. This is embodied in our statement, "Living and Learning in Strength and Gentleness."
Our school is a single-stream primary school catering for students from Kinder to Year 6. It embraces the culture of a professional learning environment to assist all students in meeting the essential learnings of the NESA Syllabus in all prescribed areas. Our students also work to meet the outcomes of the Bathurst Diocesan Religious Education Syllabus. Our staff are highly trained and seek opportunities to deepen their knowledge through professional development which supports student learning.
At St Brigid’s we connect to our Indigenous Culture, honouring and remembering the Wailwaan and Gamilaraay Peoples. Our staff engage in development days to further educate ourselves about the rich culture and history of the land we work, play and pray on.
Students take part in a wide range of activities as part of the St Brigid’s experience. This includes the opportunity to represent our school at local, Diocesan, State and National levels. With the opportunity to flourish in a range of team and individual sports, as well as attending several sporting carnivals and selection trials throughout the school year. We offer our students the opportunity to participate in extracurricular activities including music lessons through Distance Education and Art Competitions within the Diocese.
Our Parents and Friends play an active role within our school community and are present in our daily school life. The P&F meets regularly in the school staff room and welcomes families to join this organisation or to be involved in the partnership which forms an important part of your child’s learning.
We look forward to welcoming you and your family into our St Brigid’s community.
